Owner Spotlight: Dion Beg

I was born in the small Pacific Islands of Fiji. My family moved to Australia when I was young because of the political climate in Fiji at the time. Like most new immigrants, they had to start over again, finding new jobs and rebuilding while taking care of a young family of five. After years of working hard, they were able to purchase an investment property which helped secure their stability. This was my first exposure to using property as an investment tool.

I've been involved in the property industry now for sixteen years. I worked as a realtor and financial planner in Australia and have been working in mortgages in Ontario since 2009. I focus on helping clients build their real estate portfolio right from their first home to multiple properties. I'm in this business because I believe in the power of real estate ownership and the impact it has on families. The fact that I get to work with people at one of the most exciting times in their lives is a privilege and fuels me to work harder.

My relationship with my clients is the most important part of my business. With the help of my administrative team, we work to ensure our clients feel informed and confident that we are finding the best solutions for their particular needs. As a mortgage agent, it is my responsibility to analyze my client’s current financial positions and determine the next best steps for them concerning mortgage options and property acquisition. I take great care in ensuring that the financing solutions I provide today will allow for my client’s portfolio expansion at a later point. The most enjoyable part of my job is speaking to clients and helping them understand financial concepts and how they can positively shape their future.

Some of the skills and strategies I use to provide excellent service to my clients include the ability to communicate complex financial concepts; balance all key stakeholders needs in a real estate transaction; finding and working with the best lenders to meet client needs; and always being solutions-focused.

I enjoy public speaking in the areas of real estate and personal finance and am often a guest speaker at the Toronto Real Estate Board (TRREB) where I train real estate agents on the topic of investment property.

When I’m not working you will find me playing with my kids, spending time with family and friends, at the gym or travelling to warm places in the winter months!
